Why should you care about PBS SQL?
Passport Business Solutions stores the data about your customers, your vendors, the inventory your company maintains, what’s been ordered or has shipped, the sales figures – essentially a record of all the business activities that have occurred throughout the day, week, month, quarter, etc. Standard reports reveal many of the details of these transactions in a generally accepted accounting-friendly format. But what about the rest of the company? Do current reports provide what others need to be able to do their jobs more effectively?
And what about the rest of the data that’s in your PBS. The data you can’t get to with the regular report settings? It’s in there but it won’t show up. Or, you manage to get the data but you get all of a certain kind of data – years’ worth, when all you wanted was a certain segment of data. Can anything help with that?
SQL Can
SQL makes all your data accessible with a wide variety of tools that are much easier, user friendly, without the need for custom programming. Tools such as Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel allow you to easily manipulate the data. You can use Crystal Reports or hundreds of other programs designed to filter and display your data your way. Almost any programming language can access SQL, including Visual Basic (VB).
And what about the other SQL-based business applications that your company uses such as time clock software or retail point of sale software? PBS SQL shares the same database structure as other SQL-based products so they can communicate easily with each other. Instead of manually entering data in multiple locations, importing and exporting data, or maintaining Excel spreadsheets, small programs can allow these applications to talk to each other. This reduces data entry errors, improves efficiency, and allows for improved report content.
We developed PBS SQL to give you greater access and control over your business data and therefore your business success.
